4 Things You Need to Know About Ideal Dentistry

Unnecessary discomfort

Things have changed in dentistry over the years, and even today about every 6 months something new is being developed to help you experience ideal dental care. With advanced dentistry gone are the days of painful and outdated procedures, multiple shots, and uncomfortable surroundings. Today we can deliver results without discomfort.

Outdated treatment options would include working on one tooth at a time, little or no anesthetic, aggressive tooth removal, loud and slow moving dental hand pieces, and traumatic injury to the gums.

Today everyone should be presented with conservative treatment. Each procedure no longer requires aggressive removal of viable tooth structure. When restoring a tooth less too structure is removed because ideal restorations are placed with biomechanical adhesions providing less pain after care. Procedures are quicker than normal requiring less time in the office. The procedures are quick because there is less time involved giving an anesthetic, less time cleaning out broken down areas, and less time waiting for the actual appointment. The office should always be on time, and because there is a plan of care the treatment should move very smoothly. More things can be one at once requiring less visits. The time it used to take to work on one tooth can now be used to work on several teeth and perhaps the whole mouth. New dental handpieces are quiter and quicker. New materials, such as porcelains are used that are more biocompatible with our teeth and bodies. Injections should be fewer and quicker. Pre-injection gels are used to eliminate the feeling of the needle. The new anesthetics are more profound and last longer. The sights, sounds and smells of a dental office are more like home. The overall environment is developed as living room or home. There should be candles and aromas that eliminate the traditional dental office smell. There should be audio and visual equipment in each studio room associated with noise cancelling headphones, along with a catalog of movies, music. Also warm neck pillows and blankets should be offered.

Treatment takes to long to finish

With ideal dental care you should get what you want done fast. Instead of treating one thing at a time you can have everything done together, which makes the outcome even better. There should be no wait for an appointment because with ideal dental care each patient reserves their own time and is treated without interruption. In the past what could have taken as many as eight visits can take two. The whole mouth and person should be treated instead working tooth by tooth. This removes the necessity for multiple visits, extra injections, less time from work, and a result that is beautiful, uniform and functional.

Costs too much

In the past ideal care was too expensive for everyone’s budget. It is true that exceptional dentistry can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean it is unaffordable and unattainable. Today there are a few ways that you can comfortably pay for the best possible dental care. To begin with, if you have developed a personalized dental plan then it is possible to phase your care over a period of time which allows you to budget you expenses. Today, one of the best options that should be offered is to have all the treatment done first and then pay over time without interest. Major courtesies should also available for those who wish to pay in advance of care. And very long extensions of payment are now given (6 years) with small amounts of interest involved. As with any type of large investment there are ways to pay for things over time and still maintain a comfortable financial budget.

Doesn't last

Even thought nothing lasts forever, ideal dentistry can make things last a very long time. Dental work, whether it is cosmetic or rehabilitative should last a long time possibly a lifetime. With new materials available for cosmetics and neuromuscular analysis for our function we can now create beauty that performs properly so that the work done lasts. The new materials that are available include natural looking and natural wearing porcelains. Such porcelains no longer include metal and actually improve the strength of your teeth. Neuromuscular dentistry provides a stable and physiologic restful point of function using EMG recordings, jaw tracking, and joint analysis. With the combination of all porcelain restorations and neuromuscular stabilization, dental work lasts making your investment worthwhile.
